چکیده

A method for estimating the current flowing through a non-linear power inductor operating in DC/DC converter is proposed. The knowledge of such current, that cannot be calculated closed form as linear inductor, crucial design converter. proposed based on third-order polynomial model already developed by authors; it exploited to solve differential equation and implement flux circuit simulator. allows estimation up saturation, intended point at which inductance reduced half its maximum value. profile depends also temperature. Based this, influence core temperature conduction time switch was determined. This study shows exploitation saturation requires proper value theoretical analysis has been experimentally verified boost valid entire class DC-DC converters subjected constant voltage given time. simulations agree with experimental data from case concerning

Single-inductor Multiple-output Dc-dc Converters

This chapter deals with the design methodologies to obtain DC-DC converters with multiple outputs and only one inductor. The four possible schemes, buck, boost, and inverting or noninverting buck-boost, are considered. The key specific problems related to the issue are the inductor current switching scheme, the multiple-loops control, the suitable driving of power switches and, accordingly, the...

DC-DC Power Converters

Dc-dc power converters are employed in a variety of applications, including power supplies for personal computers, office equipment, spacecraft power systems, laptop computers, and telecommunications equipment, as well as dc motor drives. The input to a dc-dc converter is an unregulated dc voltage Vg. The converter produces a regulated output voltage V, having a magnitude (and possibly polarity...

Current-Sensing Techniques for DC-DC Converters

Current sensing is one of the most important functions on a smart power chip. Conventional current-sensing methods insert a resistor in the path of the current to be sensed. This method incurs significant power losses, especially when the current to be sensed is high. Lossless current-sensing methods address this issue by sensing the current without dissipating the power that passive resistors ...

Single-Inductor-Multiple-Output Switching DC-DC Converters

Emerging feature dense portable microelectronic devices pose several challenges, including demanding multiple supply voltages from a single miniaturized power-efficient platform. Unfortunately, the power inductors used in magnetic-based switching converters (which are power efficient) are bulky and difficult to integrate. As a result, single-inductor–multiple-output (SIMO) solutions enjoy popul...
